Without music, life would be a mistake ~~ Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

OUR DIRECTOR

Dr. Wesley Broderius

Wes Broderius was born and raised as a Lutheran in Denver, Colorado.  He attended prep school and college at Concordia College, Seward, NE.  Wes served Lutheran churches in Wisconsin, Florida, Nebraska and Colorado as a minister of music, organist and choir director.  He also taught music at Lutheran High School in Denver, and returned to Concordia college as a staff member teaching organ, music, history, school music and conducting two college choirs.  Wes is currently the music director at St. Philip's Lutheran Church in Littleton, CO.

Broderius has been the conductor of The Lutheran Chorale for over twenty years, performing the major choral works of Bach, Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, as well as many other favorite composers and works.

In 2001, a new Bach liturgy, composed and adapted by Broderius, was published in a new Lutheran hymnal entitled, The Service Hymnal, a Lutheran Homecoming.

This 2009-2010 season is Wes' farewell season with the Lutheran Chorale.  Join us at all of our concerts and hear some of the original pieces that Wes himself has composed.  Wes leaves us to retire after over 30 years of directing the The Lutheran Chorale, and he will be missed.
