Bach and Blarney

 

Celebrating The King Of Heaven

and

Our Irish Heritage

 

Wes Broderius, in his final season as conductor of The Lutheran Chorale, will offer Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata 182 (“The King of Heaven”) and Easter Oratorio, along with Broderius’ own texts and arrangements of several traditional Irish tunes.  Soloists for the Bach selections will be David and Jonathan Hodel (David Hodel is the Chorale’s incoming conductor).  Accompaniment will include a chamber orchestra for the Bach selections, and an Irish band (bodhran, pennywhistle, harmonica, and Irish fiddle) for the Irish pieces. 

 

This season, Broderius is completing more than three decades of distinguished and much-appreciated service as conductor and music director of The Lutheran Chorale.  He also serves as music director at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Littleton .  Come enjoy his crisp, stately conducting of Bach’s joyous music and delightful Irish traditional music at The Lutheran Chorale’s presentation of Bach and Blarney, Sunday, March 14, at 7:30 pm, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church , 2100 Wadsworth Blvd. , in Lakewood
